The White House Summit on the United State of Women
We partnered with the Obama White House to create The United State of Women -- a movement dedicated to fighting for women’s rights, created for the modern feminist.
Consisting of a website filled with action-oriented information, local activations and culminating in a women’s summit held in Washington DC, hosted by the Obamas and the Bidens, I designed and established an ecosystem that would give feminists the tools to take action, in a way that united the causes.
The campaign kicked off with President Obama announcing the United State of Women at a press conference. We followed up with a film featuring some of the most important women in America from Oprah, Tina Fey and Meryl Streep to Michelle Obama, Shonda Rhimes and Kerry Washington, all declaring the values of the United State of Women.
We gave people an array of accessible ways to participate and join The United State of Women, including:
Take a pledge on Instagram to call out everyday sexism or stand by your own ideas.
Retweet a quote from an inspirational woman - from celebrities to action women like Cecile Richards of Planned Parenthood and Amani Al-Khatahtbeh of Muslim Girl.
Wear an “Equal AF” or “Feminist, duh” t-shirt.
Livestream the summit and join the conversation.
Or, you could simply watch and share the film.
